My work is primarily concerned with the production and management of a wide range of celebratory events, including; festivals, parades, site-specific shows, gallery installations, lighting installations, permanent and temporary public art, and training programmes across the UK and abroad.
In addition to these production/event management skills I have extensive experience of Health and Safety within the events industry, including numerous industry qualifications, and have acted as nominated Safety Officer/Advisor on a multitude of events of varying scope, size and content.
EVENTS:
As event/production manager working in a freelance capacity since 1997, including full-time for Same Sky since 1999, I have overseen a large number of events (up to 20 a year), and have been responsible for, amongst other things; initial client liaison, site visit, pitching of proposals to potential client and budgeting of all stages of projects and subsequent management of budgets, full Event Planning and Health and Safety documentation (including full risk assessment), including liaison with relevant departments from local authority and other Statutory bodies, full responsibility of all aspects of on the day production and event management, including fulfilling role of Safety Officer offering advice to key collaborators/stakeholders and generally ensuring the safe and smooth running and quality control of events.
COMPANY MANAGEMENT:
I have also been a key member of Same Sky's core staff and have been closely involved in short, medium and long term planning for the company,helping to shape the company's current direction and portfolio of work. I have also been responsible, amongst other things, for the following areas with regards the day to day running of the company;drafting of company's Health and Safety policy, including implementing full documentation and overseeing of the day to day Health and Safety responsibilities (as a qualified Health & Safety Advisor), and management of technical resources, transportation needs, and buildings management/requirements.
